SCIENCE BASED TARGETS IN ACTION

Al Iannuzzi, PhD, Vice President of Sustainability at Estée Lauder Companies brought together ISSP-NYC and associates of The Estée Lauder Companies to co-sponsor the panel “Science Based Targets in Action – Why It Matters to the Low Carbon Economy” presented by ISSP-NYC at Bumble & bumble. corporate offices in New York City. At the invitation of ISSP-NYC Founder & Co-Chair Mark Wolf, Dr. Iannuzzi presented Leaders In Sustainability keynotes in December 2015 and again in September 2019.

Delaying action by just one year changes the annual goal from 6.7% to a whopping 12% in order to achieve a 50% energy reduction by 2030. Further, the key to successfully aligning organizational assets is to simplify management communications. Mark Wolf served as the Event Chair.

Park Slope Food Co-Op now makes more money per square foot than any grocery store in NYC. Leveraging three hours' work/month from all 17,000 coop members — regardless of age, gender, culture, and socio-economic background — the coop benefits from below-market labor costs and retail prices. A panel featuring Joe Holtz, General Manager, Park Slope Food Coop, and Liz Carollo, Assistant Director, Greenmarket/GrowNYC followed the screening.
