ISSP empowers professionals to advance sustainability in organizations and communities around the globe. We deliver on this mission by engaging in three key activities:

  • Collaboration - Providing opportunities for sustainability professionals to share ideas and resources through our online, members-only ISSPCommunity platform and larger-scale in-person events.

  • Capacity Building - Our instructor-led and on-demand courses, along with monthly webinars, support the professional development of sustainability practitioners throughout their careers.

  • Partnering Toward Goals - Joining with strategic partners to extend our reach and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through these activities, ISSP facilitates dialogue among professionals to continuously clarify and update the Sustainability Professional’s Book of Knowledge (SPBoK). Thus defining the standard of excellence for our profession, allows us to properly educate the capable workforce that plays a critical role in driving true sustainability.

As the premier professional association for members of the sustainability field, ISSP is committed to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are also committed to supporting the professionals who are needed to make implementation of this internationally recognized framework for sustainability progress a reality by 2030.
