Our Education Partners program supports college and university sustainability programs by connecting classroom instruction to ISSP’s standard of sustainability excellence. Students and faculty benefit from membership in the leading professional network for the industry while unlocking a path for earning their Sustainability Excellence Associate (SEA) credential. Our program is designed to support students’ immediate pathway to a career in sustainability.

The Mile High Youth Corps’ Energy & Water Conservation Program engages young adults, ages 17-24, in providing water and energy efficiency measures to income-qualifying households and non-profit facilities. Earning a bi-weekly stipend and an AmeriCorps education award, young people from all economic backgrounds can afford to serve their community and invest in their own personal growth.

 

Requirements

  • A commitment to following the ISSP Code of Ethical Practice and Values.

  • A commitment to incorporating ISSP’s Study Guide content into your curricula.

  • Accreditation under the rules of the country in which your institution operates.

  • A minimum of 10 students must participate in the program.

Fees

The program has a yearly membership fee starting at $1,530, which supports a sustainability program consisting of one faculty and up to 10 students. The following table summaries rates by the size of the department:

What ISSP certification is most valuable to students?

From GBCI, credential administrator: “The Sustainability Excellence Associate credential is designed for those who are new to or are interested in entering the sustainability field. This credential is ideal for students, recent graduates, and/or early career professionals. To earn an SEA, candidates must demonstrate a solid grasp of core sustainability concepts.”

Do students have to take the Sustainability Excellence Associate (SEA) exam?

No - students are not required to take the exam. However, Education Partner materials amply prepare students for passing the exam if/when they choose to take it.

Is the SEA exam included in this program?

Do students and faculty get a copy of the Study Guide?

Students and faculty are licensed to use the study guides for educational purposes only.

Do faculty have to be SEA-certified?

Faculty are not required to be SEA-certified, however, should have a robust understanding of sustainability topics, issues, tools, and techniques.

What are the benefits of student membership?

Students will enjoy all the benefits of regular membership including access to an exclusive social network of sustainability professionals, invitations to local sustainability events and webinars, and connection to various professional resources, including job postings.

How much would it cost to participate in the program with 22 students?

To calculate the yearly membership fee, refer to the table of fees above. At 22 students, your organization is at the Impact 20 Level of membership, which amounts to $2,600.
